WELCOME TO THE FARM!

We are a diversified organic vegetable farm nestled into a hillside along the Upper Iowa River. On our terraced fields, we are constantly striving to improve what sustains us: our soils. We specialize in year round farming with mobile, unheated high tunnels. Our vegetables are grown, harvested, and processed with care to maintain the highest quality. All of our products are Certified Organic by MOSA.

THANKS FOR EATING WITH US!

This past year has been a success for us and we have all of you to thank. We continue to enjoy the relationships we have developed; with all the folks coming out to the farm to pick up their food after being freshly harvested, to our local food co-ops in Decorah, LaCrosse, and Viroqua, as well as to our local restaurants supporting us and their visitors with fresh, organic foods. Our high tunnels were stockpiled with greens for the winter and our goal was to have our tasty greens available until at least Christmas...at which point we had dreams of heading south and visions of sandy beaches. Well, we had greens through Christmas, and into early January, but we've officially eaten through all the goodness! And although we didn't make it to those sandy beaches, we are nestled in tight, woodstove roaring, and poring over the new seed catalogs for the coming season...which is right around the corner!

WHY HAVE A GARDEN?
  • YOUR FOOD WILL BE FRESHER, HEALTHIER, AND TASTIER. You can't beat the taste of fresh, organically grown vegetables. Produce bought from a grocery store often has been harvested early and transported over long distances before it ever reaches your plate. This means that you rarely taste it when it is truly fresh and much of the flavor is already lost. Once you taste the fresh harvest of what you have grow - you will want to grow more!
  • YOU WILL KNOW YOUR FOOD, HOW IT IS GROWN, AND WHAT IS IN IT. You can truly know your food, how it is grown and processed, and avoid the use of chemicals in growing your food.
  • YOU WILL ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILDREN TO EAT HEALTHILY. Getting your children involved with the process of growing food will not only empower them with an important skill, but it will also get them interested in trying different types of vegetables they have grown. It is a great way to promote healthy eating by your children from a young age.
  • YOU WILL BE TAKING PART IN A CENTURIES OLD ACT OF HUMANKIND AND CONNECTING YOURSELF TO THE EARTH.
