WELCOME TO THE FARM!

We are a diversified vegetable and seed farm nestled into a hillside along the Upper Iowa River. On our terraced fields, we are constantly working on improving what sustains us: our soils. We specialize in year round farming with mobile, unheated high tunnels. Our vegetables are grown, harvested, and processed with care to maintain the highest quality. All of our products are Certified Organic by MOSA.

Once again we are growing Certified Organic vegetable, herb, and flower seedlings for our annual spring plant sales. This is the third season we are offering our ONLINE SALE with an ORDER DEADLINE OF APRIL 1st, 2012. You will also find our seedlings at the Oneota Community Food Co-op and Seed Savers Exchange both in Decorah, IA.
Happy Gardening!

WHY HAVE A GARDEN?
  • YOUR FOOD WILL BE FRESH, HEALTHY, AND DELICIOUS. You can't beat the taste of fresh, home grown vegetables. Produce bought from a grocery store often has been harvested early and transported over long distances before it ever reaches your plate. This means that you rarely taste it when it is truly fresh and much of the flavor is already lost. Once you taste the harvest of what you have grown - you will want to grow more!
  • YOU WILL KNOW YOUR FOOD, HOW IT IS GROWN, AND WHAT IS IN IT. You can truly know your food, how it is grown and processed, and avoid the use of chemicals in growing your food.
  • YOU WILL ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILDREN TO EAT HEALTHY. Getting your children involved with the process of growing food will not only empower them with an important skill, but it will also get them interested in trying different types of vegetables they have grown. It is a great way to promote healthy eating habits at a young age.
  • YOU WILL BE TAKING PART IN A CENTURIES OLD ACT OF HUMANKIND AND CONNECTING YOURSELF TO THE EARTH.
